Richard Slesinski teaches Advanced Placement Physics at Syosset High School. His primary focus is to foster a classroom environment conducive to learning and promoting excellent collaboration between students, parents, and himself. He enjoys engaging his students by creating cooperative learning opportunities which provide them with ownership in their learning. In 2014, Mr. Slesinski was accepted into the New York State Master Teachers Program. Through this program, he engages in intensive content-oriented professional development and peer mentoring opportunities. He works closely with pre-service and early career teachers to foster a supportive environment for the next generation of STEM teachers. He attends regular cohort meetings and participates in and leads professional development activities throughout the year. He actively helps elementary school teachers develop NGSS lessons.
