Syosset High School’s Unity Coalition hosted its second annual Unity Day on October 24th to promote school spirit, empathy, and acceptance. Several activities planned for the day centered around building connections and combating bullying.
Students wore orange to school and donned orange bracelets to show their support of Unity Day and had fun posing at the photo booth set up in the cafeteria. Student clubs decorated a sidewalk square with chalk to form a “Chalk Walk” of inspiring messages, and students added their sentiments to a “Unity is…” poster hung in the main hallway. The inspiring day sparked discussion of hope and support and sent a powerful message to the student body.
