4450 FORENSIC SCIENCE LABORATORY

Year, 1 Credit, Alternating Single & Double Periods

Prerequisites: Biology (Chemistry recommended)

Recommended for: Grade 12 only or recommendation from the Administrative Assistant for Science.

Description: This course provides students with the scientific principles, techniques and skills used in a modern crime laboratory. The course focuses on those areas of Biology and Chemistry relating to the analysis of physical evidence and the interpretation of its significance to forensic scientists. The nature of the physical evidence is emphasized along with practices relating to the proper collection and preservation of evidence.
