4110 LIVING ENVIRONMENT HONORS/BIOLOGY AND 4614 RESEARCH 1 AND 4114 LABORATORY (N.Y.S. Regents)

Year, 2 Periods, 1 Credit for Biology Honors, 1/2 Credit for Science Research 1

Prerequisites: Recommendation of 8th grade Regents Earth Science and Math teacher and an A in the Earth Science course and Regents exam.

Recommended for: Students who have earned an A in the Earth Science course and Regents exam. This course is also recommended for students who wish to pursue science research.

Description: This is an enriched curriculum in Biology which expands upon the NYS Living Environment curriculum by including additional topics. Science Research 1 is a co-requisite for this course. Students will be introduced to technical writing, library resources, and laboratory procedures that are applicable to the course. Course content is designed to prepare the student for the NYS Biology Regents exam as well as the Biology SAT subject test. Science Research 1 is a co-requisite with this course.
