Dear Class of 2019,
College Boot Camp will provide seniors the opportunity to receive help over the summer on any section of the Common Application, including the essay, writing supplements, education, testing, and activities sections. In addition, counselors will be available to help students work on their college lists and match their Common Application and Naviance Student accounts.
The dates for College Boot Camp are Friday, August 10 & Friday, August 24. Each day will be broken into two sessions and students may sign up for one session by calling the guidance office at 516-364-5686. The first session will be from 8:15-9:45 a.m., and the second session will be from 10:15-11:45 a.m. Students must bring their usernames and passwords for the Common Application and should bring their own laptops.
Please be advised that due to the update with Naviance Student/Common Application, students will be unable to link accounts until after August 15 and utilize the Common Application.
August 10 will primarily be used to work on essays and short answers for your application.
Please keep in mind College Boot Camp is an opportunity for help with college applications, not to process applications, request transcripts or discuss class schedules for the upcoming school year. Please be assured there will be other opportunities for these matters. If your child cannot attend College Boot Camp in August, please note counselors will be meeting with seniors during the school day in September through senior meetings and Naviance Student Workshops.
We look forward to seeing you at College Boot Camp!
