Special Education
Syosset High School provides a wide range of services and programs to meet the needs of students with disabilities. They include: psychological services, speech and language services, testing and evaluations, occupational therapy (OT), physical therapy (PT), adaptive physical education, and itinerant services for the visually and hearing impaired.

The Committee on Special Education (CSE) recommends students to educational placements based on the unique needs of each individual student. Special Education programs are implemented to provide an education program in the least restrictive environment. Transition planning, college/career readiness, and self-advocacy skills are an integral part of the program. Pre-vocational and post-secondary options are explored and reviewed annually. Independence and access to general education classes are encouraged and determined by the CSE.
